I'm leavin' on a jet plane...

Well, today is the day I've been looking forward to since April. I'm hopping on a plane (along with my sister, Sara, my dad, Chelsea, Jason, and David) to meet the rest of the team we've joined through Visiting Orphans. We'll be flying to Ethiopia and Rwanda to go visit some orphanages and love on some sweet kids! Of course, my heart really has no idea what its getting itself into but I'm so thrilled and honored to be a part of this trip. I would love it if you guys would keep us in your prayers while we're gone. For the basic stuff like health, safety, etc but also for the big stuff. You know like eyes to see what we're truly there to see. For Supernatural energy and ability to get down and dirty and just 'be' where they are. We're spoiled Americans who have no idea really what it is to "need" anything. I want to be present in every moment. And for God to be glorified through it all!

Along with all of this excitement comes some sadness though. I'm gonna miss my people so bad! We're already feeling the tears and (healthy) anxiety that comes with being apart like this. As you remember a couple of posts ago I confessed some of the fear issues I've struggled with. The Lord has been so faithful and I feel completely covered up by Him. I love reading Psalm 91 and I've been meditating on these words...(for me and for my family)

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
Just open your eyes,
and see how the wicked are punished.
If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.
They will hold you up with their hands
so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
You will trample upon lions and cobras;
you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation.”

Thank you for praying! I'll try and post from Africa if I can. Of course you just never know. Like I tell my kids..."you get what you get and you don't throw a fit"! And I'll leave you with pictures of my people whom I love so much and already can't wait to get home to throw my arms around their necks! Thank you to my family for loving me enough to let me "go" and for stepping up to the plate while I'm gone! I love you....

My kids.

My guy.
