Mother's Day 2009

Man, I am SO behind. I have lots to catch everyone up on. Especially the incredible Sunday we had last week when Ridge got baptized. But I need to down load those pictures off of my camera. And we have another fun filled weekend ahead of us. So maybe Sunday night or Monday I'll get to that. But before I forget I wanted to post some pictures of my fabulous Mother's Day this year. Unfortunately the night before Mother's Day I had a TERRIBLE allergic reaction to something I ate, I guess. I am currently getting allergy shots because I break out in horrible itchy hives. There are no words for the uncomfortable feeling they cause me. Its nearly daily but this night was worse. So I got up in the middle of the night to take some benadryl. Little did I know my kids had been up late setting up the kitchen table so that when I woke up on Sunday morning I would have a lovely surprise. I was so itchy I didn't even see my surprise when I got up in the middle of the night. Whew! After my lovely kitchen table experience they whisked me off to an early breakfast before church to Cracker Barrel. And I got the sweetest gift EVER. For quite some time I have needed a new bible. The cover has been torn off. Some of the pages have been pulled out. *Someone* scribbled all over and in it. But I have hesitated to get a new one because I have mine all marked up like I like it and highlighted in all of the right places. WELL....my sweet husband and kids bought me a new bible just like my old one and they went through EVERY page of that thing and re-highlighted my new one just like I had done. They even wrote the little phrases in the margins like I had in my old one. I mean to tell you...I was speechless! I could NOT believe it! That meant so much to me! Brian also bought me a new watch because mine broke like a year and a half ago and I couldn't bring myself to buy a new one. I felt so special that day!!! The kids even helped me pick weeds in the afternoon. What could be better? Here are a few pictures of that special day....we had already received our picture of Rhett so I was in heaven!

My kitchen table when I finally saw it on Sunday morning...I love pink so it was "EVERYTHING PINK" day. Too sweet!

The daddy of my children...I love this man!

And here are the people I do it all for....
the reason I love being a mommy...

My sweet Miss Adiah

My charming Ridge

My super silly Natalie

And my beautiful young woman of a daughter, Emily

I can't wait to see our table next year with another blessing....Look at these people....they are the reason I do what I do. I love you guys!

Cousins

Last week I watched my sister's children for a bit while they were closing on their house. There is never a dull moment when we get our two little one's together. Hannah is smaller than Adiah but she is definitely a "little mama" and tries to "make" Adiah do things. For example, we have walked in numerous times when Hannah is forcing Adiah on the ground trying to get her to lay down so she can cover her up and make her hold a baby doll and go night-night. Its especially funny when she has her knee on Adiah's chest pinning her down. And Adiah just lays there and cries. She is starting to *fight back* a little and even got put in time out at Mother's Day Out for doing so. Its funny, ya'll! But as much as they fight with each other they really love each other alot. They act more like sisters than they do cousins. Really that story had nothing to do with the following pictures. I just thought it might make you smile to read that. These photos were taken last week when the cousins were at my house.

Brian got home from work and went to lay down on the bed for a little while. Adiah, Hannah, and Noah decided to join him! Then the girls ran off to play. I sat in there chatting with Brian and Noah when I realized I had heard NOTHING from the girls in about 5 minutes. I went on a mad search and this is where I found them. In Adiah's bathroom....

All I know is that Hannah had the toothpaste, Adiah had the toothbrush, and Hannah's feet are in the sink. Gross. Might be why they BOTH have a cold this week. Hmmm.

Something is squirrely with Google reader...

Trying this again! Testing, testing.............

Jane Long had a Chinese sidekick!

Today Natalie's class did a Wax Museum of historical characters. Each student stood behind their desk dressed as their character of choice and when you pushed the "button" they would say their small speech about who they were. Natalie's character was Jane Long. Adiah couldn't stand not taking part in it so today Jane Long had a Chinese sidekick. The cutest pair I've ever seen!
P.S. I'm not sure anyone could understand a word she said because apparently all 4th graders talk that fast. Shew.

I'm just not sure anything is better than this. Period.

From the cutting room floor...and because I know you all wanted to crank your head to the side again...and because my daughter is a rock star...and because nothing is on tv that I can watch right now...I thought I'd give you some lost footage from my early days of movie making (from all of 2 days ago) that you can NOT live with out. Here is my daughter AND my husband in their pajamas. Because I know you all think we don't ever change our clothes. Unless I win an award for this and then maybe I'll pull myself together. (P.S. No children were injured too terribly bad in the making of this movie. The tongs hitting her foot at the end only hurt a little bit.)

We also needed to snap a couple of photos of me, Brian, and Adiah for our 12 month post placement report for China. Here is Adiah's idea of smiling for the camera. (See, I do put clothes on her!)

And this is the one we settled on! She's a trip, I tell ya. A real trip!

Whooo Hooo!!

Well folks. I am officially married to a BOARD certified anesthesiologist!! Remember how we went to New York a couple of weeks ago for Brian to take a test? We found out late yesterday afternoon that Brian passed his oral exam (on the first try, mind you! That doesn't always happen!!). I'm pretty sure the kids have NEVER heard their dad scream like that!! There was just a simple email that said "your ABA exam results are now ready for viewing" or something like that. It was nice that we were all home together to rejoice with him. He has worked so hard for this and we are so proud of him. Thank you, Lord, for your blessing and favor on my husband. We know everything we have or achieve comes from you.

We are going out to celebrate tonight since he had a meeting to attend last night!!

Another video

Once again I'm trying this video thing. Please excuse the fact that it seems like I never take Adiah out of her pajamas. I just tend to do these things early morning, I guess. Off to spend a day with my children who are all home from school. Not because of pigs either. But we're going to take advantage and do a little shopping for our upcoming family vacation!!

Look at this preciousness!!

Last night my mom and dad's cat, Sassy, had kittens!! Unfortunately, my parents are out of town right now and haven't gotten to see them yet. Sara saw them when they were "freshly out", if you know what I mean! But I went by before church this morning and saw them. There are 4 total. Two orange ones and two black ones. Sassy is being a good mommy and guarding to make sure we don't get to close. I did a video on my camera but when I just replayed it you could hardly see anything. I'll try another one tomorrow. So fun!!!

A video test

I figured out this morning that my new point and shoot camera could do short little videos. I also figured out you need to hold the camera horizontally in order to have your video turn out the right direction!! Oh well! I'll try and do another one later but enjoy cranking your head to the side for this one. Its short!
