My Hunky Lumberjack!!

A couple of months ago we had another tree go down on our property. We had to give it time to die so we could burn it plus Brian didn't really have time to deal with it. This week he has made some time to get some stuff done that he has needed to do. Our neighbors let us borrow these two tractors so we could haul the tree to the burn pile and the split the logs. Brian loves "toys" like this so I had to get some pictures of my lumberjack in action!!

The log splitter. Apparently I just don't understand the beauty....

Can you see him?

More Gingerbread pictures...

Here are a few more of Adiah from Gingerbread day. Amy P sent these to me from her camera. I love how Adiah is just grazing away!! Thanks, Amy!!

Gingerbread Extravaganza!!!!

Today our sweet friends, the Pierce family, came from Corinth to participate in our annual Gingerbread House decorating day. We've done this for the past 3 or 4 years with the Pierces. When we lived across the street from them we normally did it at their house but this year they came here. Amy P. makes the BEST icing for putting a gingerbread house together. When it dries its like cement!! The girls decided since the boys were upstairs playing that we would assemble the houses. After lunch we all got together and decorated away!!! Amy made their house from scratch but I purchased ours. I'm not sure ours would have turned out so great had I baked it. I just love this tradition! We told the kids today that whether they liked it or not that we would be doing this until Adiah turns 18!! I don't care if they are married, in college, or whatever. Its happening!! So here are pictures of our day. Thank you, Pierce family, for driving our way. Next year we'll come to you!!

Finished product! Adiah didn't really help but she sure loved eating the candy!!

A miracle!! They are ALL looking at the camera. Thank you, Jesus!!

I had to include this one because Amy and I got such a laugh out of this. This is on the Woods gingerbread house. It supposed to be a Christmas tree but it looks like a He/She green snowman. Look closely.

Had to get one of Adiah. Although she didn't really participate she was here. Posing for the camera.

I finished!!

I know you think I'm talking about my Christmas shopping. No such luck. I am NOT finished with that. But I did finish my very first half marathon today! Today Sara, Matt, and I all ran in the Dallas White Rock Half Marathon!! The day started early for us at 5:50 am but Brian and I stayed at a hotel last night so we had a nice order of banana pancakes and turkey bacon sent to the room to help us be happy about being up that early. We met up with Sara and Matt at their hotel and off we went. That race is huge, I tell ya. Huge! It was televised and a little birdie told me that we were on the TV! I always knew I'd get my 2 seconds of fame!! We all did very well! Especially Sara and Matt as they were running with yucky injuries! Around mile 12 my thighs decided that they might be done running so I had to stop and stretch quite a bit. But overall, I was very pleased with my time and hope to improve as I continue training. I would like to try and run a full marathon but we'll see. At this moment, my toe nails all feel like they are about to fall off and I'm completely drained. But I'm happy because I trained for a few months for this and actually stuck to it! Here are some pictures of our morning. If any decent running pictures turn out I may post them. I'd also like to give a shout out to Brian who went with us this morning for support! I know he was bored waiting on all of us but just knowing he was there encouraged me so much! I'd also like to thank (is this the Academy Awards?) Dr. Philip who covered for Brian so he could be there and Carol, my mother in law, who watched the kids for us and God. (Sounded like an academy award thing to say. But I really do thank the Lord !!)

Me, Matt, and Sara. We're a stunning crew at 6:45am, aren't we?

Always the clown!

I finished!! Wish I could say that was a first place medal I was holding up. But it was a 2nd place medal. I kid. It was really a finishers medal. Which I'm proud of and will probably sleep with tonight. Sorry, Brian!

Our biggest fan enjoying him some yummy hot chocolate!

Santa Rocks???

I couldn't for the life of me get Adiah to stand still while getting an adorable picture of her in front of the tree with her "Santa Rocks" t-shirt that her Aunt Gina gave her. But here is my attempt!! 2 year olds...gotta love 'em!!

P.S. She was wearing this because Santa came to her Mother's Day Out today to take pictures with the kids. The note I got on her sheet this afternoon?....."Maybe next year". Apparently Santa does NOT rock. But she'll think differently come December 25th!!

Good enough!
