Seven Random Things About Me

I’ve been tagged!!! Thanks so much to Jeanette for the lovely favor!! But I enjoy reading other people’s random things so here is my attempt…..

First, the rules...
1) Link to the person who tagged you
2) Post the rules on your blog
3) Write 7 random things about yourself
4) Tag 7 people at the end of your post and link to them
5) Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6) Let the tagger know when your entry is up

Here are my random things....

1. I secretly wanted to be a country music singer when I was young.

2. I also secretly wanted to be a famous ice skater. ( I would practice by roller skating in my driveway and imagine talent scouts were driving by and would pick me!)

3. I really have issues with balloons. Hate them!! (Please be nice and don't tease! And don't bring balloons to my house...)

4. I was on academic probation twice at ACU!! If it wasn't for my dad talking to the Dean I'm not sure I would have graduated. Thanks Dad...and SORRY!!!

5. Along those same lines once I married Brian I didn't get below a 3.5 each semester. (No, he didn't do my work for me!!)

6. I love to eat Malt O Meal with pretzels and cheese...no spoon required.

7. I got my belly button pierced in Mexico with my sister.

I am tagging Sara, Britney, Gina, Kari, Dawn, Jacinda, and Holly!! Have fun, ladies!!

Are you SURE this kid just had open heart surgery 4 days ago?

Excuse the length of my title! I just couldn't think of anything else to call it! Hannah got to go home yesterday from the hospital....truly amazing in my opinion. Just a mere 72 hours before she was lying on a hospital bed having her heart fixed and now she is running around her house. She really is supposed to be taking it easy and not do any *falling*...could someone explain that to her, please! She is keeping her mom and dad on their toes making sure that she rests and doesn't get hurt. I just wanted to post some pictures that I took yesterday when she got home from the hospital. Truly amazing! Thank you Lord for the way you provide!!!

My all time favorite so far! Aunt Amy Plain just may have to use this as bribe material some day!!

Look Who's Two!!!

Hip Hip Hooray!! Look who turned two! Adiah! What would we do without our sweet girl? It sounds so cliche but it seems as if she has always been a part of this family. One of my favorite things about this girl is her sweet smile. I think anyone who has seen her would know that when she smiles her whole face smiles!! I also love how she walks on her tippy toes like she is such a princess! She is such a girlie girl!! And one of my absolute favorite things is how she LOVES to eat. Anything!! And whether its her first bite or her last bite of the same thing she goes "Mmmmm!!!" and does a little shoulder dance out of joy! I love it!! Adiah has taught us how to trust the Lord on a whole new level. The process to get her was very trying but nothing compares to having her placed in our arms and knowing that WE were responsible for her. In the beginning I was very scared that I just wouldn't have it in me. But the Lord showed me otherwise and I'm so thankful! Adiah, it is an honor to have you as our daughter! Thank you for teaching us how to love a little deeper and to laugh a little more often! You are our princess!!! Happy Birthday, sweet girl!!! We love you!!

The infamous tippy toe walk!

This wonderful cake that Tiffany made for her party! It was yummy!! She also made her a "smash" cake since we missed her first birthday celebration.

Miss Thang not knowing what to do with all the attention and gifts!!

I love this look on her face! She got the hokey pokey Elmo and it was like "Are you KIDDING me? That's for me?"

Singing Happy Birthday to our sweet girl! I couldn't help getting choked up looking around at the room filled with people who love her. It was very emotional for this mommy!!

Not quite smashing her smash cake. Such a diva!

Using a fork instead!

No Princess party is complete without the princess picking her nose....

Surgery is over...

Everything went well and in the dr's words..."nothing exciting." We like those words!! So everything looks good with the heart and now they are trying to wake her up and get her extubated. They will wheel her by soon as they take her to recovery. Her parents will get to go be with her then. Praise God for this great report! Everything we asked for....and that which we didn't...he took care of it all! Thank you Lord for your provision!! I will come back by tomorrow for a visit and let you all know. Thank you for praying and please keep doing so. She will need lots of prayers in the next few days. Yeah!!!

Surgery update

So Hannah's repair has been done. They are now working on getting her off the bypass machine and warming her up. This is a very critical time so please be in prayer if you read this any time soon. She is doing well so far....so are mom and dad. Just anxious to see their baby girl!!

Update again....

Ok, so Hannah has been in surgery since 4 pm. The doctors just called and said they are now getting started on the surgery. Its 5:30 now. They are thinking she will be on the bypass machine in about 1 hour. Then the "fixing" part will take around 1 hour. She may be out of surgery around 7:30 or 8...if everything goes without problems. So thats all I know at the moment. Sara is also blogging so you can check on her blog as well.

First update...

Surgery has been postponed to (at the very earliest) 2:30pm.

Hannah Banana

Ok, guys...today is the day!! Hannah is having her surgery today starting at 12ish. We're so excited that this day has arrived...a day for new beginnings! But we are also uneasy about all that goes into a surgery like this. So I just wanted to stop by and ask you to remember to pray today for my sweet niece. Pray for the doctors, the family, Hannah and all the things that NEED to happen with her recovery. Thank you, Lord, that Hannah is in your hands. Thank you for your sweet peace that is already surrounding this family. We love you, Lord, and ask for BIG things to happen today. May even one person come to know your Name through all of this. We give you the glory!!!

Will keep you all posted as I can....

Sweet Banana!

Hannah wagging her finger at the cat. Apparently Hannah has seen that happen a time or two!

And stay tuned tomorrow for a special birthday post! SOMEONE is turning TWO!!

Recap, sort of!

How do you like my frequent blogging? Its been good, huh? Keeping up with the Woods on a daily basis. You're so spoiled by my massive amount of posts....

Anyway, we're having a fun filled summer around here. I'm pretty sure we have not had a night where its just been me, Brian, and the kids since May. We've been on the go as I'm sure many of you can relate!! Not going to try and catch you up on all thats happening. Don't even know if I could remember to tell you the truth. Natalie has gymnastics 4 nights a week so that keeps us running. She is gearing up for the season to start in August, I believe. Emily just had 2 friends, Rebecca and Preston, from Denton come and spend a few days with us. That was lots of fun except for one *little* incident where Preston accidentally got flung off the back end of the golf cart while going down our driveway. I'll let the accused remain nameless but lets just say it wasn't her first time injuring someone with that thing and I'm about to start handing out citations! Ridgedon has had fun this week going to VBS with some of our new friends, the Allisons. Actually, we bought this house from the Allisons and they have been wonderful to help us meet people and get involved! And just to give you a smile...Mrs. Allison's first name is none other than.....*drum roll please*......Allison. Yep, Allison Allison. I love it! The kids have also been having fun hanging out in the creek bed behind our house meeting the other kids that live around us. There are a set of quadruplets going into 4th grade that live directly behind us on the other side of the creek. Natalie is thrilled since she too is going into 4th grade and they will attend the same school. They also have a 7th grader who will go to Emily's school. So that's been alot of fun. Miss Adiah is keeping us busy! She is certainly learning how to be 2! Which is a good thing since her birthday is next week!!! Can you believe that? We are having a party for her this weekend since her actual birthday is the day after my niece is having open heart surgery and we want her to attend. Speaking of all of that, please pray for my sister and her family as they gear up for this much anticipated surgery. They brought Miss Hannah home from China in May and she is doing amazing. We just have to get this surgery done which is not going to be fun but oh so necessary. Pray for her healing and the family stress that any surgery tends to create. We love Hannah!!! I'm sure I'll give more details next week and you can also check my sister's blog here.

Anyway, hopefully this will jump start me into wanting to blog again. You know, sometimes you just go through phases where the desire isn't there. I hope to be better. With Adiah's party coming up I'm sure there will be more. Also, on Sunday afternoon we are having guests until Tuesday morning. So LOTS to blog about in the coming week. See you soon!!

Okay...I LOVE this little series of pictures. This is Adiah spotting the pool through my bedroom door.

Signing for more. (Meaning I want to get in that pool, please)

"Come on Emily get me in that pool."

"Hurry up!!" (as she lovingly *drags* her sister to the door)

"Okay, if you won't take me I'll just climb through this window here." This kid cracks me up!

The gang in the pool. Natalie, Ridge, Rebecca, Emily, and Preston (typical boy!)
Don't you think Natalie and Ridge look so much alike when their hair is wet?

Another fun series of pics. Adiah playing peek a boo.

Where's Adiah?

(wait for it...)

There she is!!!

Major Key

I haven't posted about this before but I have many friends who know about this. My cousin's baby is having a kidney transplant tomorrow. His daddy found out that he could donate so this is all happening tomorrow! It has been a long road for their family and will seem even longer in the days to come. But the Lord has brought them so far!! He wasn't even expected to do well at all and now he is kicking along in a "Major" way!! Please pray for my cousin and her family....they all need it! They have 2 older girls who can't be with them during the next few months so pray for them during this time of separation. Pray for Major that his body will do what it is supposed to during the recovery. Pray for Karroll, his dad, who is donating one of his kidneys. And pray for Stephanie, my cousin, who has been such a rock for her family. You can follow their journey here. If you feel like you are called to it you can also donate to their medical fund because the bills will be and have been incredibly high. Will keep you all posted!!
